Fish Audio Review (2026)
Fish Audio review: an ElevenLabs-style AI voice platform with emotion tags, voice cloning, a 2-million-voice library and a pay-as-you-go API, now on its new Drama 3 model.
- Free: 8,000 credits/mo, personal use
- Plus: $15/mo ($7.50 first month)
- Promo: 50% off plans until Nov 12
- Launched: Drama 3 on Product Hunt, Oct 16, 2026
New launch, not tested hands-on. Fish Audio Drama 3 (“AI voice acting you can direct, not just generate”) was on the Product Hunt daily leaderboard on October 16, 2026. Fish Audio itself is an established voice platform; Drama 3 is its new model. Everything below comes from fish.audio and docs.fish.audio. We have not generated or cloned a voice.

Summary
Quick verdict: one of the most serious ElevenLabs alternatives, and very cheap right now: plans are 50% off until November 12 for the Drama 3 launch. Plus at $15 a month (or $66 for the first year) covers about 200 minutes of speech with commercial use.
- Text to speech with inline emotion and sound tags such as [whispering], [laughing], [sighing] and [pause].
- Voice cloning from a short sample (the homepage says 15 seconds), plus a library of 2,000,000+ community voices.
- Also: speech to text, voice changer, audio separation, audio translation, sound effects, Story Studio for audiobooks and avatar lip-sync.
- Plans: Free, Plus $15/mo, Pro $100/mo, Max $999/mo, Enterprise custom. Credits are shared; one minute of speech costs about 600–625 credits.
- Drama 3 launch offer (official site): 50% off the first month or the first year of any plan, and 80% off Drama 3 in the API, until November 12, 2026.
- Developer API is pay-as-you-go: $15 per million UTF-8 bytes of text (about 12 hours of speech) on the S2 models, $0.36 per audio hour for transcription.

Price snapshot: This is the price at the moment we wrote this review (October 16, 2026). The price may have changed by the time you read it, so check the official site for today’s price.
- The launch offer ends November 12, 2026 (the site’s banner: “all plans are 50% off until November 12”). After the first month or first year, plans renew at the regular price.
- Without the offer, annual billing gives “3 months off”; the FAQ calls it a 33% saving. The regular annual prices are not shown while the offer runs.
- Unused credits do not roll over to the next month (FAQ).
- The API is billed separately and pay-as-you-go: S2.1 Pro and S2 Pro text to speech $15 per million UTF-8 bytes (docs.fish.audio). The docs page we read did not list a separate Drama 3 API price; the banner says Drama 3 is 80% off in the API.

The catch
The headline prices are launch discounts that end on November 12.
- Half-price first month or first year, then full price: Plus goes from $7.50 to $15 a month, Pro from $50 to $100.
- The Free plan is for personal, non-commercial projects only (FAQ), even though the free card lists “Commercial use” as a feature row.
- Credits reset monthly with no rollover, unlike ElevenLabs, which rolls credits over on paid plans.
- The 7-day money-back guarantee is listed on Pro only.
- Voice cloning raises consent questions; only clone voices you own or have permission to use.
- We have not tested voice quality, cloning or the API.
Verdict
- Free: try the voices and emotion tags before paying, but not for client work.
- Plus ($15/mo, $66 first year on the offer): the sweet spot for creators; about 200 minutes a month with commercial use.
- Pro ($100/mo): for teams or heavy narration (about 1,620 minutes, 3 seats).
- API: worth pricing out against ElevenLabs if you generate at volume.
This is the price at the moment we wrote this review (October 16, 2026). The price may have changed by the time you read it, so check the official site for today’s price.
Worth trying if: you make voiceovers, audiobooks or voice agents and want expressive, directable voices at a lower price than ElevenLabs, especially before November 12.
Skip it if: you need commercial use on a free plan, credit rollover, or you are happy with your current voice tool.
Not tested hands-on. Prices can change; re-check fish.audio/plan before you buy.
