QuickBooks AI invoicing is Intuit's new way to draft your invoices and chase late payments. Intuit announced it at its Intuit Connect event in Las Vegas on October 27, 2026, as part of a fall QuickBooks release built on its Intuit Intelligence AI. Here's what QuickBooks AI invoicing does, which plans get it, what it costs, and the catch.
What QuickBooks AI invoicing does
According to the QuickBooks fall 2026 release notes, Intuit Intelligence drafts invoices in QuickBooks for you to review. Once you approve, it sends prioritized payment reminders for anything unpaid. Intuit's announcement adds that the new cash flow and invoicing tools surface aging invoices and benchmark your business against similar ones.
Why Intuit is pushing it now
Intuit's 2026 small business late payments report found that nearly 3 in 5 small businesses have invoices overdue by 30 days or more, up from 47% last year. Intuit says customers using its AI-drafted reminders got paid 4 days sooner on average. That's Intuit's own comparison of its customers from March 2025 to March 2026, not an independent test.
Invoicing from ChatGPT or Claude
QuickBooks also connects to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini in Google Workspace, Perplexity and Muse from Meta. Most of those connectors are in beta, but Intuit lists invoicing in ChatGPT and Claude as generally available on Simple Start through Advanced. You ask for an invoice in plain language and approve it before it sends. Some AI platforms may need their own paid subscription.
Which QuickBooks plans get it and what they cost
The AI invoicing beta is in QuickBooks Essentials, Plus and Advanced, not Free or Simple Start. On October 28, 2026, the QuickBooks pricing page listed Essentials at $85 a month, Plus at $140 and Advanced at $340, with Essentials shown at $42.50 a month for the first three months for new customers. Intuit doesn't list a separate fee for AI invoicing.
Intuit says the features are rolling out to US businesses from October 27, with international availability to follow.
Details checked on October 28, 2026. Prices and features change, so check QuickBooks' own pages before you sign up.
The catch: it's a capped beta
Intuit labels AI-powered invoicing a beta and says each account gets limited capacity each month. The release notes don't say how big that allowance is, and beta features "have limited availability and are subject to change." If you send a lot of invoices, don't build your collections process around it yet.
Who should care
If you're already on Essentials or above and have overdue invoices, it's worth switching on and testing on a few customers. If you use Xero instead, read our Xero and Gemini post. For payroll, see the Gusto AI connector post, or browse the tools directory.

Does QuickBooks send payment reminders without asking me?

Yes. Intuit lists invoicing in ChatGPT and Claude as generally available on Simple Start through Advanced, and nothing sends until you approve it.
