Xero Gemini integration: what it does, how to connect it, and the catch

The Xero Gemini integration puts live numbers from your Xero books inside Google Gemini chats. Xero announced the connected app on October 14, 2026, and says it is the first financial management platform to launch one for Gemini. Here is what it does, how to connect it, what it costs, and the one catch.
What the Xero Gemini integration does
According to Xero's announcement, the app runs on JAX, Xero's agentic platform, and can:
- Financial health: profit and loss statements, income and expenses, balance sheets and cash position.
- Receivables: overdue balances, draft invoice summaries and top clients.
- Payables: outstanding and overdue bills.
- Charts: net profit or loss and aged receivables, drawn in the chat.
Accountants can also switch between client organizations.
What stays under your control
Xero says anything that changes your books, such as issuing an invoice or sending a payment reminder, needs your explicit confirmation before it runs. It also says the shared data is used only for your session and is not used to train Google's Gemini models.
What is still coming
Xero says customers on "eligible plans" will soon get Gemini tasks with live Xero data, like a daily summary of bills and cash. It has not named the plans or a date.
How to connect Xero to Gemini
Google's Connected Apps help page describes the general steps on a computer:
- Sign in at gemini.google.com.
- In the sidebar, click Customize (or More first), then Connectors.
- Find the app and click Add, then follow the sign-in prompts.
- In a chat, type @ and pick the app to point Gemini at it.
Google notes that available apps vary by country, device and account type.
What it costs
Xero's announcement does not mention a separate charge for the Gemini app. You still need a Xero subscription. On Xero's US pricing page (checked October 16, 2026), plans are Early at $27/month, Growing at $59/month and Established at $97/month, with an offer of 80% off for the first 3 months.

The catch: Gemini has to keep your activity
Google's help page says that when the Gemini Keep Activity setting is off, Connected Apps are not available on gemini.google.com or iOS. So to use Xero in Gemini on the web, you have to let Google save your Gemini activity, which some owners won't want for financial questions.
Who should try it
