Short answer (November 3, 2026): Tally is the better pick for most people, because its free plan gives you unlimited forms and unlimited submissions, while Typeform's free plan stops at 10 responses a month. Typeform's paid plans start at $39/mo ($28/mo billed yearly) and Tally Pro is $29/mo ($24/mo billed yearly); the catch with Typeform is that every plan caps responses, and the catch with Tally is that removing its branding and using your own domain need Pro.

Tally vs Typeform is one of the most searched form-builder questions on Google. Both make good-looking forms with logic, integrations and AI help. But they charge in very different ways: Typeform sells you a monthly response allowance, and Tally gives responses away for free and charges for branding, domains and team features. Here's how they compare on price, features and the catch, with prices checked on each official pricing page on November 3, 2026.

Free plans: Tally wins by a mile

Tally's free plan has unlimited forms and unlimited submissions within its fair use guidelines. It also includes features most form builders keep for paid plans: collecting payments, signatures and file uploads (up to 10 MB a file), conditional logic and calculations, answer piping, password-protected forms, closing a form on a limit or date, and integrations with Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Zapier, Make and webhooks.

Typeform's free plan also gives you unlimited typeforms, logic, embedding, exports and integrations like Google Sheets, Zapier and HubSpot. But it allows only 10 responses a month across all your forms. Payments, file uploads, signatures, removing the branding and redirects after submit are paid features, and you can only test them in trial mode.

So if you need a free form that keeps working after the 10th reply, Tally is the clear choice.

Paid plans: what you're paying for

With Tally, you never pay for responses. Pro ($29/mo, or $24/mo yearly) removes the Tally branding, adds custom domains, unlimited team members, partial submissions, custom CSS, email notifications to respondents, drop-off analytics, unlimited upload size and 30-day version history. Business ($89/mo, or $74/mo yearly) adds data-retention controls, email verification and 90-day version history.

With Typeform, the plan sets your monthly responses and seats. Basic gives 100 responses and 1 user, Plus gives 1,000 responses and 3 users and removes the branding, and Business gives 10,000 responses and 5 users with drop-off rates and conversion tracking. Typeform also sells Growth Flow ($379/mo, or $266/mo billed yearly, after a 14-day trial that needs a card) for marketing teams that want enrichment, SMS follow-ups and Salesforce, plus a Contacts & Automations add-on from $25/mo.

At low volume, Tally Pro is $10 a month cheaper than Typeform Basic on monthly billing and has no response cap. Typeform only starts to make sense on price if you value its extra lead tools more than the response limits.

Features that matter most

Form style and building

Typeform shows one question per screen, which feels more like a conversation and is its signature look. Tally builds forms like a text document: you type, and press "/" to insert a question block. The result looks more like a classic web form. Our Typeform review and Tally review both have screenshots and a short video of each builder.

AI

Both have AI help. Typeform AI can build a form from a chat prompt on every plan, and Typeform has added an MCP server so you can use it from AI tools. We covered its AI landing page builder separately. Tally also lists an MCP server and AI info on its site.

Payments, files and signatures

All three are free on Tally. On Typeform, payment, file upload and signature questions are paid features.

Lead generation and analytics

This is where Typeform is stronger. Paid plans add conversion tracking, drop-off rates, lead scoring and routing, response enrichment, follow-up emails and a Salesforce integration on Growth. Tally Pro has visit and drop-off analytics, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel, but no built-in CRM or enrichment.

Privacy and hosting

Tally is a Belgian company and says it stores all form data in Europe and complies with GDPR. Typeform lists EU data hosting, HIPAA and SSO as paid or Enterprise features.

The catch

Which one should you choose?

Choose Tally for most forms: lead forms, signups, order forms, applications and surveys, especially if you're on a budget or expect more than 10 replies a month. Choose Typeform if the one-question-at-a-time experience matters to your brand, or your sales team wants enrichment and CRM routing built in, and the response limits fit your volume.
