Xmind 2027 (“Your mind map is now an AI thinking partner”) was in the Product Hunt feed on November 1, 2026 (7:24 PM ET); Xmind announced Xmind Agent, Xmind MCP and a ChatGPT plugin on October 29, 2026. Everything below comes from xmind.com, its pricing, Premium, AI and help pages. We have not tested Xmind Agent hands-on.

Quick verdict: a polished mind-mapping app that now has an AI agent built in. The free plan is enough to try it (10 online maps and 50 one-time AI credits), but real AI use needs Premium: 500 credits a month for $8.25 a month billed yearly, or $15 month to month. Pro ($4.92 a month yearly) unlocks exports and more maps, yet gets no monthly AI credits. The big news is openness: an MCP server and a ChatGPT plugin let other AI assistants work on your maps.

AI credits pay for every Xmind AI action. Xmind’s help page gives examples: 2-4 credits to grow ideas on one topic, 3-6 credits for a whole map; the Agent announcement says a task can take a few to several dozen credits.
Premium’s monthly credits reset each month; extra credit add-ons can be bought and do not expire (help page).
While Free or Pro users still have AI credits, AI-made maps don’t count toward the online map limit; once credits run out, the normal limit applies again.
The 7-day free trial is for yearly subscriptions only. Yearly plans bought on the website have a 7-day money-back guarantee; monthly plans and AI credit add-ons are not refundable.
Mismatch: the separate Premium page (xmind.com/premium) shows Pro at $4.29 a month billed annually, while the main pricing page shows $4.92. We use the main pricing page.

The catch

The AI is metered, and Pro gets almost none of it.

Free and Pro get only 50 AI credits once; ongoing AI use means Premium (500 a month).
Agent tasks can cost “a few to several dozen” credits each, so 500 a month may cover far fewer tasks than it sounds.
Month-to-month is about double the yearly rate ($10 vs $4.92 for Pro, $15 vs $8.25 for Premium), and only yearly plans get the trial and refund window.
Two official pages disagree on Pro’s yearly price ($4.92 on the pricing page, $4.29 on the Premium page).
Xmind Agent is new (launched Oct 29); iOS support was still “coming soon” at launch.

Verdict

Start on Free to see whether Xmind Agent fits how you think; 50 credits is enough for a handful of maps.
Pick Premium yearly ($8.25 a month) if you want the Agent every week; it is the only plan with monthly credits.
Skip Pro unless you only need exports and more maps without AI.
